Thomas Kineshanko | Chief Executive Officer
 

Thomas has raised debt and equity in both corporate and project finance and has completed technical work on a variety of cleantech installations in Australia, Asia, North America and South America. Thomas has five years of hands on experience in cleantech modelling, due diligence, finance, structuring, and policy. Thomas has co-founded several successful cleantech focused organizations, including the Greentech Exchange, Radiant Carbon, and Greenangel Energy (TSX.V: GAE), where he was one of the founding equity partners. Thomas was educated at the National University of Singapore and Simon Fraser University. When not building companies and products, Thomas loves sport and is a two-time Athletic and Academic All-American in Track & Field.

 

Valter Stoiani | Product Quality Manager
 

Valter is an engineer and INSEAD MBA with over 19 years of entrepreneurial and alternative investment experience. Most recently, Valter led the Natixis alternative investment-structuring desk for Asia Pacific ex-Japan, structuring and selling Natixis’ specialized funds to institutional investors, including international carbon funds such as the European Carbon Fund and the European Kyoto Fund. As a financial engineer, Valter has completed multiple market firsts including structuring the first ever weather-linked derivative in Asia while working for ABM Amro.

 

Stephane Guerraz | Director of Product Development
 

Stephane has an MSc. in Computer Science from Dauphine University, is a qualified Actuary, and completed an MBA at Berkeley where he also organized Berkeley’s first Nanotechnology Forum. Stephane has 10 years of experience building risk and asset valuation software, while working for companies such as BNP Paribas.

 

Narayan Sainaney | Chief Technology Officer
 

Narayan Sainaney is a technology entrepreneur with over 15 years of expertise. Narayan has a B.Sc. in Computer Science and an MBA from UBC. He has worked on high profile products for Microsoft (Office 97, PhotoEditor), Adobe (Acrobat 4.0, Illustrator 7.0) and Aldus (PageMaker 6.5). As an entrepreneur, Narayan co-founded Mindquake Software, Digital Snaps, Vitrium Systems and Brainify.com. He has experience in raising capital, building management teams, developing IT products, establishing market presence and executing sales. As an intellectual property expert, Narayan has successfully built trademark, copyright and patent portfolios.

 

Kevin Starke | Technical Director
 

Kevin is an expert at analyzing and modeling cleantech installations, protocols, and policy. Kevin graduated from the University of Victoria, where he received the Medal of Excellence for having the highest academic scores of any undergraduate. Kevin has previous accounting experience with KPMG, international policy and EU due diligence experience with Euro-Trend, has had work published in the field of international policy change, and has worked in cleantech valuation and modelling since 2009.

 

Andrew Fursman | Research and Development
 

Andrew is the co-founder of Satellogic, and over the past 10 years has contributed to the development of Human Resources Development Canada, Quack.com, AOL Time Warner, TranslucentNetworks, The Mike Ferry Organization, 800InfoHomeLine.com, MSF Productions, NothingNetworks, and Cloudtel Communications. Andrew has degrees in Economics, Political Science and Philosophy from the Universities of Waterloo and British Columbia.

 

Directors

Ralph Turfus:

Ralph is an accomplished technology entrepreneur who has spent three decades in the IT sector. Most recently, he was founder and CEO of Class Software, a leading developer of software for municipal government. In 2004, Class was acquired by California-based Active Network in a private equity-financed transaction. An engineer/MBA, Ralph’s passion is developing the marketing and sales capabilities of entrepreneurial technologists. He is a highly-regarded speaker on the topic and is a hands-on angel investor and mentor who is active with the founders of numerous next-generation technology companies emerging on the Canadian West Coast. In recognition of his business success and industry contributions he was named the B.C. Technology Industry Association’s “Person of the Year” in 2006.

Michael C. Volker:

Mike is a registered professional engineer in the Province of BC and holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. He has been immersed in the technology sector since starting his first company shortly after finishing his undergraduate studies. Founded in 1973 with one of GreenAngel’s other directors, Alan Werenko, Volker-Craig Ltd. was a computer terminals company that was successfully sold in 1981 for a considerable profit. Since then, Mike has been active in various early-stage businesses as a founder, investor, director, and officer. He was the first Chairman of Shad International in 1980. In 1987 he founded RDM Corporation (TSX:RC), formerly Mindflight Corporation) and served as chairman and CEO from 1991 to 1996. In 1988, Mike moved to British Columbia to serve as the first full-time Executive Director from 1988 to 1991, and Chairman from 2001 to 2003 of the BC Advanced Systems Institute, an organization dedicated to technology development and technology transfer. From 1996 to 2001, he was Chairman of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum. Early 2000 he founded and continues to manage the Vancouver Technology Angel Network (VANTEC). Currently he is President and Founder of WUTIF Capital (VCC) Inc. – the Western Universities Technology Innovation Fund and a Director of Simon Fraser University’s Industry Liaison Office. Mike is very active on the B.C. high tech scene, serving on non-profit boards of New Ventures BC and the Canadian Listed Companies Association and public company boards of Plutonic Power Corporation (TSX:PCC), GraphOn Corporation (OTC:GOJO), and Angelwest Capital Corp. (TSXV:AWC.P), as well as various private company boards. He also frequently writes and speaks on management and technology issues and is active as a member of various charitable and educational boards.
